Real talk

Okay guys and gals I figured it was time to have a little real talk. As I’ve been trying to figure out what I should really focus on with this blog. Ive had a lot of different thoughts and ideas. I’ve worked super hard on this blog, and feel like I’ve poured my heart, and soul into sharing many different facets of my life. I wanted to take a moment to ask you guys what have been your favorite posts so far? Is there a topic that stands out to you that you’d like me to talk about more often? A blog is nothing but a journal without readers, and as much as I’m grateful I’ll have these posts as a reference later in life, what I really want is to make a bigger difference.

I was talking with my husband tonight, and he mentioned potentially taking my blog in a different direction. Not necessarily changing it entirely, but potentially focusing more on body positivity, loving where you’re at in life, and of course ultimately #Embracingyourbace. My post Embrace Your base awhile back stirred up a lot of questions, mixed emotions and feedback. My reservations with focusing on this topic are that some days I don’t feel like that confident woman I am 95% of the time. Some days I feel fat, insecure, and overwhelmed. I ask myself how I let myself get this way? I ocassionally find myself feeling ashamed of my “tight” pants that fit perfectly last week and mentally beat myself up about all of the things I’m not doing right. But I guess that’s what makes me human. How can I stand for body positivity when every now and then I fall into these thoughts?

My hopes with this blog from the beginning (I’m still very much at the beginning) have been to help women on a limited budget feel like they could make their home feel and look exactly like they want without going into debt. To help woman everywhere be able to look in the mirror and be proud of not only what they see, but who they see reguardless of our imperfections. To share yummy quick meals, and little wins along the way. I want every person to feel a sense  of community when they go onto their social media pages, and instead of comparing ourselves and our lives, being grateful for the lives we ourselves have been blessed with.  It’s so easy to get wrapped up into the perfect picture, filter, dress, makeup tutorial, angle, caption so on and so forth. I feel like we maybe sometimes are in danger of missing the big picture.  I know I find myself regularly dreaming of last years trip next years adventure or even the latest trends instead of being in the moment, and being present with my job, family, or life in general. It’s so easy to slip into this notion that what we have right now isn’t good enough, and everything outside of what we have is what we should want or sometimes we even convince ourselves that it’s what we need to be happy. But when I start to really think of all that I’m blessed with, time and time again I’m reminded that (for most of us) our greatest happiness lies within us. We have been blessed with the power to create our own happiness, and then to look outside ourselves, and give back.

It’s been so fun for me to be able to share my thoughts with all of you, and I’ve loved all of your feedback both privately and publicly. I hope today you stand a little taller, smile a little bigger, and dream up a whole great big life for yourself,  and then work your booty off to get there, because guess what darlin?! You deserve it! My favorite thing is when I see women and men working together, collaborating to create something beautiful. That when one person succeeds there is a celebration from people everywhere with genuine happiness for their success! I guess my point is that there is enough room in this very large yet very small world for all of us to succeed, and that my friends is something to get excited about. Today, and for the rest of the week/eternity my hope for you is that you see yourself a little more clearly through Gods eyes. Dig a little deeper to find inner peace with yourself and your imperfections. Embrace those “unloveable parts” and WORK IT.

I don’t really know if this post flows or even makes sense or if connects together, but I hope it sheds some light on my thoughts, hopes, dreams, and a potentional direction for this blog. Please let me know your thoughts and share your feedback! 🙏🏻 subscribe so you can be the first to know when I post a new blog, and I’ll look forward to hearing from you! Thanks for your continued support! Stay sweet ✌🏻
